Azam Media Limited have inked a seven year dear worth 23bn/- with Football Kenya Federation to broadcast live Kenyan premier league matches.
The deal has been sealed in Nairobi, Kenya on Thursday as the new chapter opens for Kenyan football.
Speaking at the event, Azam Media Limited Chief Operations Officer (COO) Yahya Mohamed says a special channel called Azam Sports Four will be introduced specifically for the Kenyan premier league.
He further reiterates that they expect to begin broadcasting exercise from this season (2023/24).
He again issues a stern warning to those who plan to steal their content to refrain from such malpractices as no room will be given for them.
On his part, Football Kenya Federation president Nick Mwendwa insists that the deal is a bright future for Kenyan football.
He also assures Azam that they will come up with a friendly timetable to allow more matches being broadcast live.
“This is the biggest step forward in Kenyan football and we are happy that negotiations which took a long time have now come to an end,” he says.
