Tanzania’s envoy to Comoros ends tenure with brilliance in diplomacy, food trade, ICT, and health

MORONI: THE outgoing Tanzanian ambassador to Comoros, Saidi Othman Yakubu, held a formal farewell meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Union of the Comoros, Mbae Mohamed, following the completion of his tour of duty.
During the meeting, Minister Mbae Mohamed commended Ambassador Yakubu for his significant contribution to strengthening bilateral cooperation between Tanzania and Comoros. He noted that during the ambassador’s tenure, notable progress was achieved across several sectors, including energy, food trade, ICT, health, and diplomacy. He emphasized that this cooperation has expanded development opportunities for both countries and reinforced their longstanding historical ties.

The minister also expressed satisfaction with the increase in high-level visits between the two countries, as well as the successful convening of the first Joint Permanent Commission (JPC). The meeting resulted in the signing of five agreements in strategic areas, laying a solid foundation for long-term bilateral cooperation.
For his part, Ambassador Yakubu thanked the minister for the close collaboration and support he received throughout his tenure, noting that the achievements realized were the result of a shared commitment by leaders from both nations. He affirmed that he would continue to promote and strengthen the bilateral relationship even after concluding his official duties in Comoros.
