Tanzania’s clean energy campaign benefits Armed Forces Units

MLANDIZI: THE Minister of Defense and the National Service, Dr. Stergomena Tax, said she is impressed to find the country’s armed forces units countrywide perfectly implement the clean cooking energy campaign.

The Defense Minister said that during her recent tour of the Ruvu National Service Unit camp located at Mlandizi in the Coast region.

The purpose of the Minister’s visit was to observe firsthand the implementation of the clean energy usage at the camp.

During her visit, the Minister had the opportunity to tour the camp’s kitchen and see how clean energy is being utilised.

She praised the camp’s leadership for successfully adhering to the directive to use clean energy in institutions serving more than 100 people.

In her discussions with the camp’s management, Minister Tax emphasised her visit was part of a broader initiative to evaluate the implementation of the Clean Energy Program, which is being overseen by President Samia Suluhu Hassan.

She noted there have been significant achievements in this area, particularly in environmental conservation and cost-saving measures.

The visit concluded with a tour of the camp’s wildlife zoo, which is owned and managed by the camp. Minister Tax encouraged Tanzanians to visit the zoo to appreciate the creativity and innovation on display.

This initiative is part of Tanzania’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainable energy solutions and environmental conservation, aligning with the national development goals set by President Samia Suluhu Hassan.
