Tanzanians attend the burial as Job Ndugai is laid to rest

KONGWA: THE former Speaker of the National Assembly, Job Ndugai, has been laid to rest today, August  11, 2025, in his home village in Kongwa District, Dodoma Region.

The burial ceremony was attended by various leaders including, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Dr Tulia Akson, former Speaker Anna Makinda, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (Policy, Parliamentary Affairs and Coordination), William Lukuvi, Minister for State in the President’s Office for Public Service Management and Good Governance, George Simbachawene and residents from different parts of the country.

The farewell service was held at St. Michael’s Anglican Church, Kongwa Deanery, in Kongwa District and led by the Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Tanzania, Dr Maimbo Mndolwa.

The 62-year-old veteran politician passed away while receiving treatment at a yet-to-be-disclosed hospital in Dodoma.

Ndugai, who served as Speaker from 2015 to 2022, is remembered for his firm leadership style and deep understanding of parliamentary affairs.
