Tanzanian police warn of planned protest in Dar

KILIMANJARO: Tanzania Police Force on Friday warned against a planned protest on the streets of Dar es Salaam, the country’s commercial capital by the opposition party – Chadema.

It said the protest is illegal and further action will be taken against those attempting to disobey the police order.

Tanzania Police Force Spokesperson DCP David Misime told reporters in Kilimanjaro that individuals planning to travel to the capital should not try wasting their precious time.

Chadema’s National Chairman Mr Freeman Mbowe had released the party’s stand calling on supporters to get into the street on Sept 23.
