Tanzanian flag has gold colour, not yellow, Prof Kabudi cautions the public

DODOMA: THE Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (Policy, Parliament, Coordination and Persons with Disabilities), Prof Palamagamba Kabudi, has urged the public to observe the law governing the proper use and appearance of national symbols while stressing that the national flag has a gold colour and not not yellow.

Prof Kabudi made the clarification in Dodoma during a working visit to the Government Printing Agency Tanzania, where he commended the institution for educating the public and overseeing the proper use of national symbols, including the national flag and coat of arms.

“The National Symbols Act states that our flag has a gold stripe, not yellow. We must adhere to the law and continue educating the public on the correct use and colours of the national flag,” Prof Kabudi said.

He said the law governing national symbols places a responsibility on the Government Printing Agency to ensure compliance, including producing national flags on behalf of the government.

Prof Kabudi also said the transformation of the department into a government agency was aimed at improving efficiency in implementing government responsibilities while enabling the institution to expand its operations in line with technological and economic changes as well as strategic needs.

Government Printing Agency Tanzania Director George Lugome said the agency continues to allocate funds for purchasing new printing machines and raw materials in response to production requirements.
