Tanzania, US strengthen security cooperation

DAR ES SALAAM: JOINT Forces from the United States military have joined the Tanzania Peoples’ Defence Forces (TPDF) to increase readiness, deepen partnerships and strengthen regional security during Exercise Justified Accord 2026 (JA26).
According to a statement issued by the US Embassy in Dar es Salaam yesterday, during this two week exercise held from February 23 to March 13, this year, the US military, primarily represented by the US state of Nebraska’s National Guard, is training side-by-side with TPDF counterparts to build medical readiness, increase cybersecurity and strengthen crisis response.
This is the second year that the Nebraska National Guard has participated in Justified Accord in Tanzania, and this year marks the beginning of the formalised State Partnership Programme between Nebraska and Tanzania.
Through this programme, the Nebraska National Guard will augment on-going military cooperation between Tanzania and the United States of America by conducting TPDF tailored military-to-military engagements in support of mutual defence.
