TANZANIA: Tanzania’s senior football team Taifa Stars will represent Africa in 2024 FIFA Series to be held in Azerbaijan.
The special contest arranged by the world’s football governing body will attract four national teams from three continents Africa, Asia and Europe.
Asia will be represented by hosts Azerbaijan and Mongolia while Bulgaria will be Europe’s envoys.
The first fixture for Stars falls on March 22nd, this year against Bulgaria and their second encounter is on March 25th versus Mongolia.
“Soon, Taifa Stars interim coach Hemedi Morocco will announce the squad ready to be deployed for the games,” says the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Secretary General Kidao Wilfred on Tuesday.
He further reveals that Tanzania’s participation is as a result of good cooperation with FIFA and that it is of significant importance to the flag bearers.
