DODOMA: THE Ministry of Health has announced the inaugural Health Week 2025, a nationwide event aimed at showcasing advancements in the health sector and fostering collaboration among stakeholders.
Scheduled to begin today and run up to Tuesday next week, the week-long celebration will take place across various regions, culminating in a grand finale in Dodoma.
Under the theme “Where We Came From, Where We Are and Where We Are Going: Building a Strong and Healthy Nation,” the event will highlight the progress made in Tanzania’s health sector, address existing challenges and outline strategies for improving healthcare services for all citizens.
“This Health Week is a crucial platform for us to reflect on our achievements, acknowledge the hurdles we face and chart a course for a healthier future,” said Minister for Health Jenista Mhagama in a statement.
It is an opportunity to strengthen partnerships and ensure that every Tanzanian has access to quality healthcare,” she said.

The Health Week will feature a diverse range of activities, including scientific dialogue tomorrow will gather to discuss innovations and achievements in the health sector.
Health stakeholders and citizens will participate in a joint walk on Saturday to promote physical exercise and healthy lifestyles.
People will have the opportunity to receive free health check-ups, she said.
According to her, there will be a health sector exhibition to showcase the latest advancements in healthcare services and technology.
The celebrations will conclude on Tuesday next where stakeholders will celebrate the sector’s successes.
Ms Mhagama said that the Health Week is a collaborative effort, bringing together citizens, health professionals, stakeholders and the government to ensure the sustainable development of the nation’s health.
