MOROGORO: THE Ministry of Health through the Emergency and Disasters Unit continues to implement interventions to strengthen preparedness and capacity to respond to disasters and other public health emergencies, including sending rapid response teams to respond to such emergencies (Deployment of Rapid Response Team) with the aim of responding to emergencies within and outside the country.

This was stated in Morogoro Region by the Director of the Emergency and Disasters Unit of the Ministry of Health, Dr Erasto Sylvanus, while opening a working session of a team of experts from cross-ministerial ministries on the concept of One Health to participate in a “table-top simulations exercise” to test in practice the use of the Personnel Deployment Guideline.

“I would like to assure the Tanzanian people and society that our Government has taken precautions in all areas including the borders of countries affected by Ebola such as Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo DRC and in society in general. Health Experts have prepared themselves, and various education is being provided to the people so that they continue to take precautions so that the disease does not enter the country, “he said
