DAR ES SALAAM: The National Cricket team has intensified its preparations for the World Cup qualifying tournament, set to take place in Nigeria on March 26 this year.
Tanzania will compete against Namibia, Uganda, Nigeria, Kenya, and Sierra Leone, with only one team securing a coveted spot in the ICC World Cup, which will be held next year in Namibia and Zimbabwe.
Speaking to Daily News Digital, the team’s Head Coach, Imran Nackerdien expressed confidence in the team’s progress, emphasizing their determination to not only participate but to fight for victory.
“This is an important tournament for us. We know the final stage will be challenging, but our focus is on making thorough preparations to go and win,” he stated.

Team captain Laksh Bakrania echoed the coach’s sentiments, affirming the squad’s readiness to give their all for the national flag.
“We respect our opponents, but we fear no one. We are prepared to fight with sweat and blood to win every match and secure our place in the World Cup,” Bakrania said.
He added that the teams had already faced each other in previous rounds, making them familiar with each other’s strengths and weaknesses.
With intense training and unwavering determination, Tanzania is gearing up for a fierce battle, aiming to make history by securing a spot on the global stage.
