Tanzania proposes reforms to the tax structure

DODOMA: THE Tanzanian government has proposed several reforms to the tax structure, including adjustments to fees, levies, and other revenue measures.

One key proposal is the repeal of the Value Added Tax (VAT) exemption on the purchase and importation of gaming supplies.

Speaking in Parliament today, June 12, 2025, the Finance Minister, Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba, explained that this measure aims to align with the equity principle of taxation, as other sports, such as football, are subject to VAT.
