Tanzania Prisons climb ladder as they beat Dodoma Jiji

MBEYA: TANZANIA Prisons won 1-0 against Dodoma Jiji at Sokoine Stadium in the Mainland Premier League fixture that was staged in Mbeya on Wednesday.
Jumanne Elifadhili’s 77th minute goal lodged his side with maximum points. The victory helped them climb the ladder to 13th place on the log with 10 points from 11 matches.
Tanzania Prisons have had a struggling season in comparison to the previous seasons. Since the season commenced in August, they have only won twice, drawn four and lost five matches.
As a result of their poor trend, Tanzania Prisons sacked their Head Coach, Fredy Minziro on November 21st. Coach Minziro was replaced by Hamad Hamis Ally who has since signed a two-year contract at the club. Yesterday’s match was coach Hamad’s first since his appointment.
On the other hand, Dodoma Jiji suffered their second consecutive defeat.
Although they lost the game, still are fixed sixth on the table with 15 points from 11 matches. In their next fixture Tanzania Prisons will play against Ihefu while Dodoma Jiji will travel to Lindi and meet Namungo FC.
