Tanzania opens its 158th STEM centre in Dodoma

DODOMA: STEMpower has announced the successful installation of its 158th Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) center at the Tanzania Community Networks Polytechnic College (TCNPC) in Dodoma.

This milestone marks another important step in STEMpower’s mission to expand access to hands-on STEM education across Sub-Saharan Africa.

The newly established TCNPC Dodoma STEM Center is the second operating STEMpower Center in Tanzania, providing university students, as well as students from nearby secondary schools, with direct access to practical learning in electronics, computers, and applied technology.

Briefing reporters in Dodoma today, March 17th, TCNPC Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Jabhera Matogoro emphasized on the importance of the well-equipped facility.

“For many young people in our communities, this lab represents their first meaningful exposure to modern technological devices.

“We sincerely extend our gratitude to STEMpower for their trust, for making this opportunity possible, and for investing in the ideas, talent, and transformative potential of young people in Tanzania,” he said.

He continued: “Through this initiative, students gain opportunities to move beyond theoretical instruction and engage in real-world experimentation, innovation, and problem-solving.

“By strengthening technical education infrastructure, STEMpower continues its commitment to empowering young people across Sub-Saharan Africa with the skills needed to thrive in the modern innovation economy.”

STEMpower also extends its appreciation to key partners whose support made the delivery of lab equipment possible…continued logistical and technical assistance from DHL, SmartAID, and Jameco Electronics has been instrumental in expanding STEMpower’s network of STEM Centers across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Through these collaborations, STEMpower is helping deliver large-scale, permanent infrastructure improvements in STEM education across the continent, an achievement unmatched in both scale and reach.

Organizations and institutions interested in advancing agro-technology, biomedical engineering, and chemical engineering practice are encouraged to partner with STEMpower to expand practical STEM learning opportunities across Africa.
