Tanzania named new CABOS member

Tanzania has been appointed a member to the Commonwealth Advisory Body on Sport (CABOS) for the next three years.

Minister for Culture, Arts and Sports, Dr Pindi Chana announced this in Dar es Salaam on Friday, thanks to Tanzania’s effort to improve various sectors including sports.

After securing the CABOS membership, Dr Pindi appointed Ally Mayay Tembele as the country’s representative on to the board as well as the African Continent.

Mayay doubles as the Acting Director of Sports Development in Tanzania.

CABOS is a body that advises the Secretary General of the Commonwealth and the member states to ensure that there is a strong government involvement and representation in the development of policies and their implementation.
