Tanzania joins global institutions in a renewed fight against child labour
MARRAKECH: TANZANIA says it will continue working closely with other institutions globally in the fight against child labour and abuse, the Deputy Minister for Labour, Employment and Industrial Relations, Rahma Riyadh Kisuo, revealed today in Morocco.
The Deputy Minister represented Tanzania at the 6th Global Conference on the Elimination of Child Labour taking place in Marrakech, Morocco.
Speaking about her participation in the high-level international forum, Deputy Minister Kisuo said she was honoured to represent Tanzania at the conference, which has brought together leaders, experts and labour stakeholders from various countries around the world.
“I am honoured to represent Tanzania as Deputy Minister under the President’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (PO-RALG), responsible for Labour, Employment and Industrial Relations. I look forward to engaging in meaningful discussions and strengthening international cooperation to safeguard the rights and future of every child,” she said.
The conference aims to discuss joint strategies to eliminate child labour, strengthen child protection systems and ensure that children fully enjoy their right to education and proper development.
Tanzania’s participation demonstrates the Government’s continued commitment to working closely with the international community to protect children’s rights and address the challenge of child labour, which remains a concern in some parts of the world.

Through this engagement, Tanzania aims to share experiences, learn best practices from other nations, and strengthen national policies and strategies to eradicate child labour.
