Tanzania, Japan affirm their strong development ties in infrastructure, trade, people-to-people relations

DODOMA: Tanzania and Japan have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening and expanding their long-standing cooperation by advancing areas of mutual interest aimed at promoting development and delivering greater benefits to the people of both countries.

The commitment was expressed in Dodoma during bilateral talks between Felista Rugambwa, Director of the Asia and Australia Department at Tanzania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, and Horonori Suzuki, Director of the Second African Division in the African Affairs Department of Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the talks, the two officials discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in development, infrastructure, trade and investment, as well as promote closer people-to-people relations between Tanzania and Japan.

The two sides also reaffirmed their commitment to further develop and strengthen bilateral cooperation to maximise mutual benefits, foster friendly relations and contribute to Tanzania’s efforts to achieve sustainable development.
