Tanzania holds talks with Turkiye’s economic city of Mersin in efforts to identify investment opportunities

ANKARA: THE Tanzanian Ambassador to Türkiye, Iddi Seif Bakari, has held strategic talks with Tanzania’s newly appointed Honorary Representative in the city of Mersin, Türkiye, Mohammed İdin.

The discussions took place at the Tanzanian Embassy in Ankara, where Mohammed İdin visited to receive his appointment credentials after completing the required diplomatic procedures, officially allowing him to begin his duties as Tanzania’s representative in the city.

The appointment is considered an important step toward further strengthening relations and cooperation between Tanzania and Türkiye, particularly in identifying and connecting economic and social opportunities between the two sides.

Mersin is an economically significant city in Türkiye, with major activities in agriculture, industry, trade, tourism, energy, and transportation sectors. The presence of Tanzania’s representative is expected to expand cooperation opportunities between Tanzania and the region.

Speaking during the meeting, Ambassador Bakari assured the new representative of close cooperation in carrying out his responsibilities. He noted that the establishment of the Mersin Representation Office will help promote investment, trade, and diplomatic relations between the two countries.

He added that the move will further strengthen the long-standing friendship, brotherhood, and cooperation between Tanzania and Türkiye.
