Tanzania hails Italy’s efforts in promoting its rich tourist attractions globally

DODOMA: THE Tanzanian  Ambassador to Italy and Permanent Representative to the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and World Food Programme (WFP, Mbaruku Nassoro  Mbaruku said Italy has significant potential to become a major source of tourists to Tanzania, commending the country’s efforts to promote its tourism attractions internationally.

The envoy made the statement after visiting the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism pavilion at the ongoing Nane Nane exhibitions in Dodoma.

He praised the ministry for its continued efforts in marketing Tanzania as a premier tourist destination, saying the country’s tourism promotion strategy is yielding positive results.

Meanwhile, Court of Appeal Judge Rajab Mruma urged the ministry to devise sustainable measures to address the persistent challenge of wildlife straying into human settlements.

He proposed the construction of fences in areas prone to human-wildlife conflicts to minimise destruction and improve the safety of surrounding communities.

Judge Mruma also toured the live wildlife exhibition at the Nane Nane grounds, describing it as an important initiative for promoting domestic tourism and raising public awareness of Tanzania’s rich wildlife heritage.
