Tanzania envisions a top-three berth in the investors’ favourite list

MWANZA: THE MINISTER for Industry and Trade, Judith Kapinga, has said the Tanzanian government is determined to ensure that Tanzania becomes among the top three countries in Africa in attracting investment and having a good environment for doing business by 2050.
She said the Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA) is an important pillar in translating and implementing the dreams, visions, and aspirations of the National Development Vision 2050, especially in the investment sector.
Speaking at the opening of the Lake Region Investment Conference in Mwanza, organized by TISEZA, Kapinga said the role of the government and the Nation as a whole is to have a broad vision for development, with TISEZA being given the responsibility of turning that vision into actions that bring real and sustainable development to Tanzanians.

She explained that through its responsibilities of coordinating, encouraging and facilitating investment in the country as well as developing special economic zones, TISEZA is an important tool in improving the business environment and attracting domestic and foreign investment.
She stressed that the implementation of this goal requires close cooperation between TISEZA, the Private Sector and the government through development plans including MKUMBI II.
She also called on TISEZA to work closely with all Regional Secretariats in the country, as well as the Private Sector, to enable Tanzanians to participate fully in investment, whether through individual projects or through partnerships with local and international investors.
