Tanzania envisions a new constitution in 2025/2030

DODOMA: TANZANIAN President Samia Suluhu Hassan has stated that the issue of a new constitution will begin to be addressed during the 2025–2030 period, as outlined in the manifesto of the ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM).

President Samia made these remarks today, June 27, 2025 in the Parliament in Dodoma while delivering her speech to wind up the parliamentary session.

Providing clarification on the implementation of the Sixth Phase Government’s, President Samia explained that the constitution is a matter that will be worked on in the future.

“In the Chama Cha Mapinduzi manifesto, the issue of a new constitution is included, so I believe that it will start being addressed from 2025 towards 2030,” the President said.

Additionally, President Samia said the country is safe and commended the defense and security forces.
