Dr Biteko urged the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, as well as stakeholders, to use the conference as a platform to exchange experiences and develop new strategies to tackle the educational challenges facing the country.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Carolyne Nombo, said the government has undertaken reforms in the education sector. However, these improvements require financial and human resources for proper implementation. She noted that the conference comes at a crucial time, as there is still a great need for financial and technical support. The meeting will therefore provide an opportunity to discuss effective ways to further develop the education sector.
Martha Makala, the Coordinator of the Tanzania Education Network (TENMET), also stressed the need for stakeholders to collaborate with the government to ensure adequate resources are available to enhance the quality of education in the country.
This is the fifth such conference, bringing together more than 350 participants from over 10 countries. The event aims to discuss opportunities, challenges, and strategies in the education sector.
