Tanzania braces for epic Sabasaba Fair as it hits a Golden Jubilee   

DAR ES SALAAM: PREPARATIONS for the 50th anniversary of Tanzania’s flagship trade fair have gathered momentum, with stakeholders convening to fine-tune strategies aimed at delivering a high-impact Sabasaba International Trade Fair in 2026.

The meeting reviewed progress on key preparations, focusing on ensuring the golden jubilee edition meets top standards of quality, innovation and competitiveness, while attracting more participants from within and outside the country.

Chairing the meeting, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Rajab Salum, expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far, noting that planning is on track.

Additionally, the PS stressed the need for broader stakeholder participation, particularly among young and emerging entrepreneurs, alongside players across production and service sectors.

According to Mr Salum, the engagement is vital to unlocking business opportunities, boosting individual incomes, and driving wider national economic growth as the country marks 50 years of the iconic trade exhibition.
