Tanzania benefits from SSTC investment training

JAKARTA: TANZANIA’S Ambassador to Indonesia, Macocha Moshe Tembele, has participated in the opening ceremony of a training programme on trade and investment promotion for African countries under the South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC) programme.

The training began on September 28, 2026, at the Human Resources Development Centre for Export Services and Trade in Jakarta.

The programme has been organised jointly by the Government of Indonesia, through its Ministry of Trade, and the Government of Japan, through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), with the aim of strengthening the capacity of African countries to promote trade and investment.

In addition to capacity building, the programme seeks to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, experience and best practices in trade and investment development.

The training covers several areas, including trade facilitation, export development, trade negotiations, investment promotion, the participation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and regional economic cooperation.

Participants will also gain practical experience through discussions with experts, government officials and private-sector representatives. They will further visit various institutions and companies in Indonesia to learn about the approaches and systems used to promote trade and investment.

The programme brings together participants from several African countries, including Tanzania, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Mozambique and Somalia.

The opening ceremony was attended by various officials, including ambassadors from African countries, Indonesian government officials, JICA representatives and stakeholders from the trade and investment sectors.

Through the programme, participating countries are expected to strengthen economic cooperation, establish sustainable institutional relationships and expand opportunities for sharing knowledge and experience in promoting trade and investment.
