Tanzania, Africa50 agree to bolster ties in advancing infrastructure, unlocking investment doors

DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with development partners and investors to accelerate infrastructure development across Africa and unlock new investment opportunities.

The commitment was made by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Dr Natu El-Maamry Mwamba, during a gala dinner hosted by the  Tanzanian government for delegates attending the Africa50 Annual General Shareholders Meeting and the Infra for Africa Forum at the Gymkhana Grounds in Dar es Salaam.

Dr Mwamba said collaboration between Tanzania and development partners, including Africa50, has played a significant role in promoting infrastructure investment and supporting the country’s development agenda.

She noted that the selection of Dar es Salaam as the host city for the high-level meeting reflects growing international confidence in Tanzania as a regional hub for investment and infrastructure development.

“Beyond the technical discussions taking place during this forum, tonight’s event provides an opportunity to strengthen relationships, build friendships and expand professional networks among participants. It is a great honour for Tanzania to host these important international meetings,” Dr Mwamba said.

Highlighting Tanzania’s cultural heritage, she said the country is home to more than 120 ethnic communities living together peacefully, a factor that has contributed to national stability and created a favourable environment for investment.

“We are proud to share part of our cultural heritage through traditional music, entertainment and cuisine presented this evening. Our rich cultural diversity reflects Tanzania’s hospitality and respect for different cultures,” she said.

Dr Mwamba encouraged delegates to experience Tanzania’s renowned hospitality while using the forum to deepen dialogue and forge partnerships that will drive innovative infrastructure projects capable of transforming lives across the African continent.

She concluded by thanking participants for attending the meeting and contributing to its success, inviting them to continue exploring Tanzania’s natural beauty, cultural heritage and investment opportunities.
