TanTrade sees successful Sabasaba fair

TANZANIA Trade Development Authority (TanTrade) is optimistic that the forthcoming Dar es Salaam Trade Fair will be of resounding success after half of invited countries confirmed to participate with a month to go before the fair kicks off.

TanTrade Acting Director of Trade Promotion Mr Fortunatus Mhambe said 14 countries out of 30 that were invited have confirmed their participation.

“We are half way and confident in the remaining days we will be able to achieve our goals because we have issued invoices to some countries. Waiting them to pay,” Mr Mhambe told the `Daily News’ over the weekend.

He named the countries which have confirmed and paid as China, Turkiye, Kenya, Rwanda, Singapore, Indonesia, United Arab Emirates (UEA) and Iran.

Others are Syria, Pakistan, Algeria, Ghana and India.

He said 100 foreign companies from the 14 foreign countries have confirmed to participate at the 47th DITF have confirmed so far. The DITF will run for 17 days starting from the last Sunday of next month.

Mr Mhambe said that 1188 local companies have confirmed to participate in the exhibition that carries a slogan ‘Tanzania is the Right Place for Business and Investment’.

Mr Mhambe said the fair will feature a forum where local and international investors can meet under and exchanging business ideas. The centre is called Saba Saba Expo Village 2023.

The Tanzania Women Chamber of Commerce (TWCC) Executive Director, Ms Mwajuma Hamza, said DITF has been a great catalyst for entrepreneurs and business people to showcase their products and accessing reliable markets.

“The exhibitions have helped our entrepreneurs to find reliable markets,” said Ms Hamza
