Tanesco supports a clean energy campaign with stoves using minimal power

DODOMA: THE Managing Director of the Tanzania Electric Supply Company (Tanesco), Lazaro Twange, has announced that the company has launched modern electric stoves that use minimal electricity and cook food quickly, as part of efforts to promote the use of clean cooking energy.

Speaking today, Thursday, August 14, 2025, during the launch ceremony of a special subsidized stove distribution program for Tanesco employees, held at the Jakaya Kikwete Hall in Dodoma, Twange said the initiative aims to use the company’s employees as ambassadors for clean energy adoption.

As an initial step, Tanesco is distributing 10,000 electric stoves to its employees at subsidized prices, marking the beginning of a broader strategy to ensure every citizen has access to affordable electric stoves.
