Tanesco opens 19 new sub-offices in Kagera

THE Tanzania Electricity Supply Company (TANESCO) in Kagera region has opened 10 sub-offices in seven councils in Kagera region in efforts to bring services near to their customers, it has been disclosed.

TANESCO Regional Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr Samuel Mandari explained that the opening of the 19 new sub-offices was in line with the company’s efforts to modernise and extend services near to their customers.

“TANESCO is implementing a programme in efforts to modernise and extend services nearer to our customers. During the first phase at least 19 sub-offices have already been opened while efforts were ongoing to open more offices,” he said.

He listed the councils with respective sub offices in brackets as Muleba (Kyanyorwa, Kamachumu, Izigo, Nshamba), Biharamulo (Nyakanazi, Nyakahura) and Bukoba (Kemondo, Izimbya, Kaagya, Kyakailabwa).

Others are Ngara (Rulenge, Benaco-Kiunga), Kyerwa (Nkwenda, Murongo), Karagwe (Nyakaiga, Nyaishozi, Rwambaizi) and Missenyi (Mugana and Mutukula).

Elaborating, he said following the opening of the new sub-offices customers would receive timely services nearer to their homes compared to the past where they had to travel to district offices.

“This will save time and resources spent in seeking for the services,” he hinted.
