TANAPA uses ZITF exhibitions to promote domestic tourism

ZANZIBAR: THE Director General of the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB), Ephraim Mafuru, has urged Tanzanians to continue taking pride in, visiting and protecting the various natural resources attained in the country as they are key pillars of the national economy.

Mr Mafuru made the statement during his visit to the TANAPA pavilion at the ongoing 12th Zanzibar International Trade Fair (ZITF) in Fumba, Zanzibar, noting that TTBโ€™s major role is to promote Tanzania both locally and internationally, and increase the visibility of the countryโ€™s attractions.

According to the TTBโ€™sย  Director General, the international awards Tanzania continues to win, including the World Travel Awards, are proof of the significant work being carried out by the government in collaboration with tourism stakeholders to promote Tanzania as the Worldโ€™s Leading Safari Destination.

Elaborating, he said that the recognition of Serengeti National Park as the Worldโ€™s Best National Park and Tanzania as the Worldโ€™s Leading Safari Destination gives Tanzania a unique international status.

Moreover, the Commissioner for Conservation at TANAPA, CPA Musa Nassoro Kuji, said TANAPA will continue to use international exhibition platforms to showcase attractions in national parks, while strengthening conservation education for sustainable development.

The ZITF exhibitions are part of a broader national strategy to promote Tanzania internationally and increase tourismโ€™s contribution to social and economic development.
