Taifa Stars have missed out an opportunity to qualify for the 2023 African Nations Championship (CHAN) finals after conceding an aggregate 4-0 loss to Uganda Cranes.
The decisive match at St Mary’s Stadium in Uganda was a beehive of action as the two sides battled for a solo slot to make it to Algeria where the CHAN finals will be played.
However, the hosts booked the place after netting three goals at home and one goal during the away match at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Uganda have cherished goals from Moses Waisal who netted via a spot kick in the 17th minute before Richard Basangwa and Rogers Mato scored theirs in the 52nd and 75th minute respectively.
For Taifa Stars, they tried whatever necessary to make a breakthrough but the water levels were unbearable as such, they will have to try their luck in the upcoming edition.
