TAHA, Kenya’s NaNA, Gambian agency explore areas for joint implementation of nutrition programmes

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Tanzania Horticultural Association (TAHA) is working with institutions from Kenya and The Gambia to strengthen nutrition interventions through sharing experience and identifying areas for joint implementation of food and nutrition programmes.

Information from the association stated that TAHA, led by its Executive Director Dr Jacqueline Mkindi, received a delegation from Humanitarian Global of Kenya and the National Nutrition Agency (NaNA) of The Gambia for discussions on collaboration in nutrition interventions.

The visit follows training provided by TAHA through its Gender and Nutrition Unit to NaNA’s management team on Social Protection and Food Safety Nets, covering the design, implementation and management of such programmes.

According to TAHA, the engagement provides an opportunity for the institutions to exchange practical experience and identify approaches that can improve the implementation of nutrition interventions.

“The discussions are also aimed at identifying areas where the three institutions will work together in implementing projects focused on improving nutrition and community wellbeing. Knowledge-sharing is important in strengthening programmes addressing nutrition challenges and improving the delivery of interventions to communities,”TAHA stated.
