TADB vows to push for Vision 2050

DODOMA: Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank (TADB) plans to expand agricultural lending, strengthen strategic value chains and increase financing for climate-resilient farming as part of its contribution to the country’s Development Vision 2050.

Presenting the bank’s priorities for the 2026/27 financial year, Managing Director Frank Nyabundege said TADB will focus on widening access to agricultural finance, supporting value addition, promoting digital financial services and increasing investment opportunities for women and young entrepreneurs.

The bank also intends to expand credit guarantee schemes, wholesale lending and blended finance programmes while supporting sustainable agricultural production capable of withstanding climate change.

According to TADB, future investments will target irrigation, storage facilities, agro-processing, export-oriented production and modern farming technologies to improve productivity and competitiveness.

The lender said it will continue working with development partners, the private sector and government institutions to mobilise additional investment for agriculture while strengthening Tanzania’s food systems and rural economy.
