TAA sports excellence fetches 10 trophies

THE Tanzania Airports Authority (TAA) has said that it values sports in the workplace and will continue allowing its employees to participate in various organised sports by recognised federations.

The Director General of the Authority, Mussa Mbura, said these as he received trophies TAA won in the Inter-Ministerial Sports Federation Games (SHIMIWI).

Mbura said TAA values sports because it keeps its employees in good physical and mental health, which helps to increase the efficiency of their work duties.

“Sports is crucial, and we aim to sharpen our team and hope, until the end of the year will have a better and more competitive team in all games. With a better team, we are sure to win more trophies.

“As the authority, we aim to increase the sports budget that would assist us in purchasing all appropriate equipment for all sports individuals.

Mbura also confirmed TAA to participate in the May Day games from April 14th to 29th this year in Morogoro.

The TAA team played football, netball, tug-of-war, athletics, cycling, cards, drafts and volleyball.
