Following the trail, villagers found the stolen cows near a river, where they encountered four men. The cows had already been slaughtered.

When villagers tried to question the men about the ownership of the livestock and the reason for slaughtering them in the bush at night, three of the suspects fled, leaving one behind.

The remaining suspect then allegedly attacked the villagers with a machete.

In self-defense, the villagers retaliated, using stones and traditional weapons, inflicting multiple injuries on the suspect.

He died from his wounds and his body was taken to Geita District Hospital.

RPC Jongo stated that investigations are underway to identify the deceased and locate his relatives before burial arrangements are made
