Spirited Tanzanian boys aim high at Street Child World Cup

Preparations for the 2022 Street Child World Cup are on top gear with Tanzania side looking forward to the showdown.
The competition kicks off from October 5th to October 15th where more than 25 countries will fight for the championship.
In his remarks, Tanzania Street Children Sports Academy founder, Mutani Yangwe said they are thrilled with the way Tanzania side is rehearsing, ready for the competition.
“It is our hope that this time around, we will again stamp remarkable success as we normally do and I have no doubt with the squad we have,” he said.
Also, the team’s Head Coach Frugence Novatus says they have pitched camp early in order to give players ample time to prepare for the heavyweight competition.
“We have a debut to do well in this competition and so far, our camp has got 18 players to be trimmed to ten players who will make the Doha trip,” he says.
The team’s captain Warioba Kawembe insists that they are grasping well everything being imparted by the coach.
On his part, Altaf Hiran from Mansoor Industries Limited (MOIL) who are the main sponsors of the Tanzania Street Children team says the company has seen it necessary to work with the team and help in achieving its targets.
“As MOIL, we always thrive to assist in various community works and let me take this opportunity to urge Tanzanians to always be on the forefront in supporting various issues which happen in the communities where they live in order to promote lives of people.
“Government alone cannot do everything hence we should be ready to render helping hand wherever there is a need to do so and these children have potential to achieve great things if they get proper support. We want them to live good lives as well,” Hiran who is also president of Tanzania Street Children Sports Academy says.
