Siraki selected for global leadership programme

DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA Golf Union (TLGU) president Queen Siraki has achieved another remarkable milestone after being selected among 106 global leaders for the prestigious Swedish Institute Global Executive Programme 2025.

The international programme, spearheaded by the Swedish Institute, aims to promote sustainable leadership and accelerate green transformation across the world.

This year’s edition brings together senior leaders from 24 countries spanning Africa, Asia, Europe and South America.

Siraki, an accomplished executive with more than 15 years of experience in financial leadership, business recovery and management, currently serves as the Head of the Special Property Management Unit at Exim Bank Tanzania.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, she is a prominent sports leader and currently serves as the president of the Tanzania Ladies Golf Union, underlining her influence in both corporate and sporting arenas.

Speaking to the ‘Daily News’ yesterday in Dar es Salaam, Siraki expressed her gratitude and pride in being selected.

“It’s a privilege for me and for my country. The knowledge I will gain through this programme is immense and I look forward to sharing it not only at my workplace but in every platform,” she said.

She emphasised the importance of embracing sustainability, particularly in leadership roles, highlighting the growing relevance of the green economy.

“Today, the green economy defines how we live, how we run businesses and how we manage our institutions, whether public or private. The green revolution is no longer optional; it’s essential,” she added.

Siraki noted that the Swedish Institute programme is fully sponsored by the Swedish government and thanked them and the Swedish Embassy in Tanzania.

She described the opportunity as both humbling and critical in supporting environmental sustainability efforts in the financial sector and within the TLGU.

“This programme is not only beneficial to my profession but also to the union I lead. We too must operate sustainably. I am looking forward to implementing everything I learn during the eight-month programme, which concludes in October.”

Siraki’s participation highlights the growing recognition of Tanzanian women’s contributions to global financial leadership and sustainable development.

“I urge Tanzanians to look at this programme because they are very essential to our country
