Singida taste league vs TZ Prisons today
SINGIDA : SINGIDA Fountain Gate said they are ready to face Tanzania Prisons as they meet in their first Premier League match of the season at Liti Stadium in Singida today.
Both teams are keen to grab the first maximum points of the campaign in order to have a good start into the new season which has now begun to take shape.
Singida Fountain Gate are embracing the match with enough confidence after defeating JKU of Zanzibar 4-1 in their first leg match of CAF Confederation Cup.
“After playing our Confederation Cup game, we switched focus to the premier league and basing on the preparations we have had, I am confident that we are going to perform well tomorrow (today),” said Singida Fountain Gate coach Hans Van Pluijm.
On his part, Tanzania Prisons trainer Felix Minziro also insisted that they are ready to launch the new season with success by grabbing essential points from away territory.
“First games of the new season are always tough, but we are well drilled to engage them and morale in the squad is very high,” Minziro said.
In another development, following their 2-0 victory over ASAS in the CAF Champions League, Young Africans said they have switched focus to their first Premier League match against KMC tomorrow.
The reigning champions begin their title defence with a tough fixture at Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam aiming to grab the win so that to kickstart the new campaign on gas pedal.
Historically, a match between the two sides has never been easy hence people are anxious to see who deserves to win at the final whistle.
“We are convinced with our first away victory of the first preliminary round of the Champions League…we are now directing our efforts to our first Premier League assignment.
“We expect a difficult game, we are defending champions and in order to excel in our race to retain the championship, we must get maximum points by winning matches,” Yanga’s Media and Communication Manager Ali Kamwe said.
However, KMC who have collected one point following their 1-1 draw with Namungo in their league opener at Majaliwa Stadium in Lindi are also keen to win the game.
As such, they will be searching to cherish first win of the season so as to collect 4 points.
