Singida plot JKU fall in CAF duels

SINGIDA Fountain Gate said the scrapping of entry charges in their double header’s first preliminary round match of the CAF Confederation Cup against  JKU aims to attract more fans to cheer the team.

The Singida-based side is tasked to host both legs at Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam with the opening match slated for tomorrow, while the reverse leg duel will be played at the same venue on August 27th this year.

In his media briefing on Wednesday, the club’s Information Officer Hussein Massanza insisted that no entry charges will be demanded from those who wish to watch both games.

“We have decided to make it free of charge in order to give the opportunity to many people to come and give us the deserved support which will make our team emerge winners.

“Of course, we are facing our brothers JKU from Zanzibar but this time, we are going to leave aside the brotherhood love and engage them with one purpose to fulfill our objectives.

“This game is very important because it will help us to provide a good picture of how far our team will go in the competition as we aim to reach the group stage, which will be the best achievement,” Massanza said.

He also said they are heading to tomorrow’s match as the underdog to JKU saying the latter have been competing in international games for some time while for them, they are making a debut.

He added that transport has been arranged for their fans living in Singida to be transported from Dar es Salaam after the match.

Earlier, the club’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sikwane Olebile highlighted that the management has been busy thoroughly preparing the team to do well in both legs against JKU.

He also stressed that the Community Shield tournament held in Tanga last week also helped the team and the technical bench to know how to fix the challenges that emerged.

He then seized the moment to introduce Jonathan Kasano as the Operations Manager of the club insisting that he has vast experience of African football.
