Singida coach rues missing Kagere, Ndemla

SINGIDA Big Stars Head Coach Hans Pluijm has confirmed his team will miss the services of their prolific striker Meddie Kagere and midfielder Said Ndemla who are out of the team for the international friendly matches.

Pluijm made the remarks during a press briefing in Mwanza.

Commenting on today’s match against Geita Gold  at CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza, Pluijm said all the players are in good shape and fit for today’s game.

He said he expected the match to be tough.

“Our players Meddie Kagere and Said Ndemla will not be there, they are in the national team roles, but we have prepared our players to believe in themselves and win this match,” Pluijm said.

Geita Gold Assistant Coach Mathias Wandiba has said they have prepared well to secure victory against Singida Big Stars.

In the NBC Premier League standings, Singida Big Stars are placed fifth with seven points after three-game outings.

The team has won two matches; 2-1 against Mbeya City and 1-0 against Tanzania Prisons.

They drew one match against Dodoma Jiji.  Singida Big Stars have conceded a goal while registering three goals.

After today’s encounter, Singida Big Stars will play against Kagera Sugar next Wednesday at the CCM Kirumba Stadium.

Geita Gold are placed in 14th place with three points after playing three matches. The team has not won any game; they have lost one and drawn two matches.

The next match, Geita Gold, will be next Thursday against Dodoma Jiji at the Liti stadium in Singida. Then, on October 4th, they will play against Polisi Tanzania, and on October 13th, Geita Gold will play against Coastal Union at the Mkwakwani stadium in Tanga.

Meanwhile, Benjamin Ben reports after Geita Gold bundled out in CAF Confederation Cup, they are back in NBC Premier League hosting Singida Big Stars at CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza today.

The solo match winds up the league’s fourth round before being paused to pave the way for the FIFA International break that engage national teams in friendly assignments.

Going into the game, Geita Gold have not won any league match from their played three fixtures hence are heads up to cast away the win-less demon to grab the first win of the campaign.

It has been a poor start for Felix Minziro’s side, but they still have enough time to regroup and generate wins before it becomes too late to turn the corner.

Before engaging in confederation cup duels was a 1-1 draw against Mtibwa Sugar at CCM Kirumba Stadium, a venue they are using for home encounters as their usual arena Nyankumbu Stadium was suspended by the Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB).

Also, today’s match could be the first for Saido Ntibanzokiza in Geita Gold colours, who has recently been training hard with the team to be fit for the important clash.

However, they face a star-studded side yet to succumb to defeat in the unfolding campaign, and if they emerge winners with a big goal margin, they will ascend to the top of the table.

Their past game against Dodoma Jiji at Liti Stadium in Singida ended in a barren draw; they have another opportunity to make ends meet and bounce back to the winning formula.
