Singida Big Stars keen to claim helm today

DEBUTANTS Singida Big Stars have a chance to go top of the NBC Premier League table if they defeat Ruvu Shooting at Liti Stadium in Singida today.

A victory will see them knock nine points which no team has so far managed to attain in this third round of the league.

It has been a good start for them after winning both of their league openers, defeating Tanzania Prisons 1-0 and Mbeya City 2-1.

For Ruvu Shooting, they will be searching for their second triumph of the campaign as they have three points obtained after winning one match and they lost the other.

Basing on the remarkable signings they have done, it is not wrong to include them in the same class of league giants like Simba, Young Africans and Azam meaning that their fixtures against these three teams will be tense.

With the tutelage of Hans Van Pluijm (pictured) and his right hand man Mathias Lule, they both have vast experience of Tanzania football meaning that the team is in safe hands of skilled coaches.

Prior to tomorrow’s game, Singida Big Stars had a long road trip to Rwanda where they played against Rayon Sports in an international friendly match which ended in a barren draw.

However, through their instagram page, they revealed that the road trip was deliber- ately arranged in order to allow most of their new players get used to travel by road.

“We have signed many players from outside the country and some of them are not used to travelling by bus that is why we agreed that the trip to Rwanda should be made on road.

“Also, in fulfilling most of our league assignments, we will be travelling by bus as such, it was a good way for them to get used to long road trips,” reads part of the infomation.
