SIMBA full-back Mohamed Hussein revealed that the existing tense competition of playing time among players in their squad will help them to have a prosperous 2023/24 season.
The Msimbazi Street Reds continue with pre-season drills in Turkey where they leave no stone unturned in order to create a competitive team capable of stamping tangible results in the upcoming season.
They are the second side to pitch camp outside the country after Azam who are rehearsing in Tunisia with each targeting to do well next term.
“The competition in the team is really high as every player is giving out his best…this is very important because it will help us to have a successful 2023/24 campaign,” he said.
He also said the team’s incumbent technical bench is doing a recommendable job to impart good training skills to them, saying it is helping players to easily adapt to the new playing system.
Again, the left back commended the club’s management for the signings they have accomplished ahead of next season insisting that the new players have added something to the squad.
“From the few days of training we have had, I can see that they are good players likely to add something great in our team and this without doubt will help us to have a marvellous campaign,” he said.
The Reds are set to have a busy calendar which will see them trading in domestic duels, competing in two international competitions, CAF Champions League and African Football League.
This requires them to have a deep squad in order to maintain good balance of the team throughout the eventful season.
Meanwhile, Simba succeeded in launching their 2023/24 new kits at the top of Mount Kilimanjaro, a mission they completed on Friday evening.
After arriving at Uhuru Peak, the top of Mount Kilimanjaro, a team of six-men who were tasked to launch the kits queued at the front of the Tanzania flag raised at the top of the mountain.
The first person held a red jersey branded ‘MO’ at the back, a short version of Mohamed Dewji who is Simba’s investor.
The second person showcased a white jersey written Kassim Majaliwa (Prime Minister), the third one also displayed a white kit with the name of Zanzibar President Hussein Mwinyi at the back.
Likewise, the fourth person unleashed a white jersey bearing the name of Tanzania President Samia Suluhu Hassan while the fifth and sixth person held up jerseys branded with names of Phillip Mpango (Vice President) and Tulia Ackson (Speaker of the National Assembly) respectively.
