Simba, Yanga’s wins thrill President Samia

President Samia Suluhu Hassan has congratulated Simba and Young Africans for their continued success in CAF Interclub Games, insisting that the presidential motivation reward of buying each goal for 5m/- stands.

Her remarks come following the duo’s victories stamped in the first leg quarterfinals of CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup respectively.

Simba SC beat the CAFCL defending champions Wydad Casablanca 1-0 in Dar es Salaam.

Young Africans travelled to Nigeria to punish the hosts Rivers United 2-0, thanks to striker Fiston Mayele’s brace.

“Congratulations to the traditional rivals Simba and Yanga for doing well in your champions league and confederation cup matches over the weekend.

“The presidential motivation for each goal remain static, continue representing well Tanzania and I wish you the best of luck,” wrote President Samia, a post shared on both Twitter and Instagram accounts.

Simba hammered Wydad Casablanca 1-0 at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam to pocket 5m/- from the presidential package courtesy of the solitary goal converted by Jean Baleke.

On the other hand, Yanga stunned Rivers United 2-0 in Nigeria to claim 10m/- from the motivation package of President Samia thanks to a brace from Fiston Mayele.

As such, in total, the two first leg quarter-final fixtures by the envoys have consumed Samia’s 15m/- ahead of the other two second leg encounters set later this week.
