SIMBA will continue to miss the services of their dependable right back Shomari Kapombe ahead of their first leg of the CAF Champions League match against Primera de Agusto of Angola this weekend.
Kapombe alongside Peter Banda and Jimmyson Mwanuke will not be the part of team’s squad heading to Luanda, Angola to face Primera Agusto.
Speaking with Daily News on Tuesday the club’s Information Officer Ahmedi Ally confirmed the trio will miss the Angola trip as they still nurse injuries which made them also miss couple of league matches including the last Sunday’s game against Dodoma Jiji.
“We will continue to miss the services of Shomari Kapombe who is still nursing muscle injury as well as Peter Banda and Jimmyson Mwanuke. They will not be the part of the squad that will travel to Angola to face Primera Agusto,”said Ally who insisted that the absence of trio will never cause the team problem in the game.
He said they have big squad and that is what the technical bench dealt with while recruiting the new players to boost their squad for local and international campaigns.
“We are aiming to reach higher in this prestige intercontinental tournament than we did last season but for now our target is to enter into group stage first then will be in good position to know how far we can reach. So we will go game by game,”he said.
Ally said the game against Primera Agusto will be tough but he is adamant that their squad has it all to get good results that will keep them into good position for the second leg encounter in Dar es Salaam after one week.
“They (Primera Agusto) is one of great team in Angola alongside Petro Atletico. We respect them but that doesn’t mean we cannot get good results in Luanda,”said Ally.
Simba who entered their first round after comprehensive 4-0 aggregate win over Malawi’s Big Bullets travel to Angola this Friday to face Primera Agusto who knocked out Zambia’s Red Arrows in preliminary round.
