Simba thrash 9-man Mtibwa Sugar

Simba have outsmarted a 9-man Mtibwa Sugar 5-0 at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Sunday evening to go second at the NBC Premier League table with 17 points in the bag.

On fire Pape Sakho netted a brace while Mzamiru Yassin, Augustine Okrah and Moses Phiri have contributed one goal each to stamp the massive victory.

It is a positive response from the Msimbazi street giants who in their previous match succumbed to a painful 1-0 loss from Azam.

With the outcome, Juma Mgunda’s side are now three points adrift leaders Young Africans who cherish the top spot on the log with 20 points.

For Mtibwa Sugar, things turned sour to them when Paschal Kitenge was shown a red card in the first half after a dangerous foul on Sakho.

In the second half, skipper Cassian Ponera was also shown marching orders in the 67th minute making the game extremely tough for the visitors.

It is a third loss for Mtibwa Sugar this season from 10 played matches of which they have won four games and recorded three draws.
