Simba: “Thank you Kakolanya, Nyoni”

Simba have parted company with goalkeeper Beno Kakolanya and veteran player Erasto Nyoni as their contract expires.

The duo release has been confirmed through the verified club’s Instagram account on Thursday afternoon.

They are the first pair of Tanzanian players to be off-loaded by the Reds as they intensify squad shaping ahead of next season.

Kakolanya was a back-up keeper to the team’s first choice goalie Aishi Manula who is still recovering from an injury he picked last season.

He is among a class of few domestic goalkeepers who have played at the two giant clubs Simba in the country Simba and Young Africans.

Other goalies who got an opportunity to play at both giants were Ivo Mapunda, Steven Nemes, Juma Kaseja and Deogratius Munishi ‘Dida’.

International players who have been offloaded by the Reds are Nelson Okwa, Mohamed Ouattara, Victor Akpan and Augustine Okra.

Simba are letting go some of their players to pave way for new blood as they aim to reconstruct its squad before the commencement of CAF Super Cup later this year.
