A 13-member Simba squad has departed in advance for Morocco ahead of their Champions League match versus Raja Casablanca on Saturday.
According to Simba’s Media and Communication Manager Ahmed Ally, other members of the squad who are in national team duties will join their colleagues in Morocco.
He adds the team’s full-back and vice captain Mohamed Hussein will not be part of the travelling squad as he serves one match suspension for accumulating three yellow cards.
Apart from the left back, other key players left due to injuries are Augustine Okra, Jonas Mkude, Ismail Sawadogo, Jimmyson Mwanuke, Mohamed Musa and Mohamed Quattara.
The game is the sixth and last for the duo’s group stage campaign and both teams have already qualified for the quarterfinals from group C.
Raja Casablanca have 13 points after four wins and one draw hence are eager to end group stage mission without tasting defeat.
For Simba, they have 9 points generated from three wins and two defeats and are targeting to record positive results at away territory.
The other match in group C is between Vipers against Horoya.
