Simba reclaim helm

DAR ES SALAAM: Simba have reclaimed the Premier League helm following a clean 3-0 victory over hard-fighting Tanzania Prisons in a one-sided game at KMC Stadium in Dar es Salaam this evening.

Prior to their today’s match, Simba were positioned second with 44 points, two-points inferior to the leaders Young Africans, who on Monday, dropped two points after a barren draw with JKT Tanzania at Major General Isamuyo ground.

Simba now occupy the pilot, parading 47 points.

One of the match’s favourites today was Ladak Chasambi who scored one of the goals.

Simba scored all three goals in the first half as no goal was added after the resumption.

It took Simba 29 minutes to score their opener. It was the attacking midfielder, Charles Jean Ahoua, who made it after connecting home a pass from Shomari Kapombe.

The other two goals, both converted in the first, came from Mpanzu and Ladaki Chasambi a few seconds before the end of the first.

Simba had lost the pilot seat to their rivals Young Africans after a 1-1 with Singida Fountain Gate on Thursday, February 6^th this year month.

Yanga’s barren draw with JKT Tanzania on Monday, gave Simba a chance to return to the top after winning today’s match.

With this victory, Simba sit at the top of the league with 47 points, having played 18 games as their rivals Yanga, who are now placed second parade 46 points.

Elsewhere Mashujaa and Coastal Union fought to a barren draw in another league match held at the Lake Tanganyika Stadium in Kigoma.
