Simba officially declare to host RS Berkane at Amaan Complex

DAR ES SALAAM: TANZAIAN envoys, Simba, have officially declared that Zanzibar’s New Amaan Stadium will host their second leg match of their CAF Confederation Cup final against Moroccan side RS Berkane, instead of the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam as it was previously scheduled.
In a statement issued by the club’s Chief Executive Officer, Ms Zubeda Sakuru, announced through Simba’s official social media platforms, stated that despite efforts by the government, the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), and the club to retain the match at Benjamin Mkapa, those attempts was ultimately unsuccessful.
“As a result, the match will be held at Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar, by a directive from the Confederation of African Football (CAF),” the statement read.
The Tanzania giants have urged their fans to remain calm and supportive amid the last-minute venue change.
In response to concerns over tickets already purchased for the Benjamin Mkapa venue, the club clarified that those tickets will instead be valid for entry to “Simba Day,” a separate event.
New ticket prices for the Zanzibar fixture have been set between 10,000/- and 50,000/-.

Simba will head into the match trailing 2–0 from the first leg and will be looking to overturn the tables to make history as the first Tanzanian club to lift a CAF title.
