Simba in full training to be fit for league

DAR ES SALAAM: AS the Mainland Premier League is set to return soon, Simba Sports Club have begun training, committed to do well in the league as well as in the Champions League.

Simba return to their drill sessions after they finished second in the Mapinduzi Cup tournament which ended in 13th January, witnessing Mlandege FC defending their championship for the second time in row.

The Msimbazi-based club failed to show their reign over Zanzibar side Mlandege Fc who recently have been outstanding in the Mapinduzi tournaments, Simba lost by 1- 0.

Simba Head Coach Abdelhak Benchikha stipulates that they have already started training since 16th January to be ready for the Champions League and other competitions.

“We continue to follow our programmes, I have already seen new signings but for now our full focus is to prepare for the champions league and all domestic tournaments,” he explained.

Speaking about friendly matches before the resumption of the league, Benchikha said the administration is preparing their programmes therefore if things will be well organised, they might have one.

However, he said he hopes Simba’s future will be good as he is very happy for their fans as he must have a winning mentality.

“Am very happy for our fans, I must have a winning mentality and I hope our future will be good,” he said.

Furthermore, after different rumours about Benchikha in social media that he is expected to be new Algeria National Team Coach, he said he is very happy with his club.

“I am with Simba, I am very happy to be here and I want to win with this club,” he said.

Simba are currently in third position of the Mainland Premier League, with 23 points after playing 10 games, and won 7 matches, drew two and lost only one game against their rivals Young Africans.
