Simba hunt helm vs Coastal Union today

SIMBA have an opportunity to seize the Premier League’s pilot seat as they face Coastal Union at Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga today.

It is 15th round assignment for the Msimbazi Street Reds this season,  and the victory will see them knock 34 points, two superior to the leaders  Young Africans and Azam  who have each collected  32 points.

Prior to their today’s encounter, Simba were placed third with 31 points from 14 matches.

On the other hand, Coastal Union play their 14th match of the campaign and so far they have gathered 12 points from 13- game outings and are likely to play lungs out to collect maximum points from home turf.

However, the talking topic about the game is on Simba caretaker coach Juma Mgunda who is facing his former team with a new employer for the first time.

He guided them to a comfortable 3-1 away victory against Polisi Tanzania at Ushirika Stadium in Moshi and now, he is searching for a second away win against a side he knows  like back of his hand.

After today’s encounter, Simba will return to Dar es Salaam to host Eagle FC in the second round match of Azam Sports Federation Cup (ASFC) at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in the city on December 8th.

Thereafter, Simba will engage Geita Gold and Kagera Sugar in other two away fixtures before facing KMC at the 60,000 capacity venue in the city.

For Coastal Union, they go into the game with heads down after dropping vital points to Dodoma Jiji in their 1-0 loss at Mkwakwani Stadium.

As such; they are targeting to recover from the nightmare knowing in advance that any negative results will annoy their fans.

Elsewhere today, Dodoma Jiji are at Liti Stadium in Singida welcoming Ruvu Shooting in another eye-catching encounter.

They are separated by one-point as Dodoma Jiji have bagged 12 points from 14 games while Ruvu Shooting have accumulated 11 points also from 14 matches.

Meanwhile, the Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) Chairman Steven Mguto has sent condolence message to Ruvu Shooting after losing their player, Graham Naftal on December 1st in Dar es Salaam.

A statement released yesterday by the board said it is saddened by Naftal’s death as many people would have liked to see him continue playing football in order to achieve his dreams.
